Full Moon at 23° Libra - The Universe Has Your Back. Do You?

This full moon brings up a lot from the last few years, and possibly our formative years as well, but to make sure we've learned from them so we can go forward stronger than ever with tons of support. However, it all depends on us and what we choose to do.

We’re out of eclipse season, and almost done with a lot of the confusion we’ve been dealing with over the last few months. This is the first lunation after this last eclipse season and it seems to be signaling that things are going to start to be seen in a different light, including our personal wounds and insecurities which have been keeping us from going after what we want. A lot of what has been going on in the confusion of the retrogrades and the eclipses over the last few months will likely start to come to light as the important players of these events go direct and eventually clear their shadows; by the time of this full moon, Mercury is already direct; shortly after the full moon, Venus will go direct. This signifies we will have a change in direction and energy from the last few months. Again, I want to highlight the importance of Venus going direct after this full moon, because Mercury went retrograde shortly after the last one. There’s a dance in the sky intricately weaving together different story-lines in our lives. We may not be able to understand everything just yet, but when Venus and Mercury clear Aries and Mars clears Leo, things will likely look quite different than what they did beforehand. Things will also like be in hyper-drive.

This full moon at 23° Libra, meaning the moon is at it’s fullest when it reaches 23 degrees of the sign of Libra, has very interesting aspects being formed at the time it reaches that point. Also, I’m having a hard time trying to ignore the big picture stuff happening here with the retrogrades and the placements of the planets at the time of the full moon. I’ve touched on a lot of the retrograde stuff in my posts about the last two eclipses, as well as the one about the month of March, 2025. If we really want to understand some more of the big-picture and overarching things happening in our lives, we want to look at the series of events building up to and, sometimes creating, the situations we deal with. These retrogrades were taking us back to a lot of things in the past, and the cascade of retrogrades shows us that there’s a lot in the stories of these retrogrades that are linking the stories together.

In October of last year we had our last Venus-ruled eclipse that we’ll have for a while, and this year she went retrograde in the sign opposing that very same sign. When you examine this, you see something interesting. Venus’s sign of Libra is all about collaboration, harmony and diplomacy. During the last eclipse Venus was in her evening star state and her energies were naturally supportive of those things. However, the eclipse was conjunct the South Node, signaling a need to let go of, or release, something regarding those Libran energies. Maybe what we were being nudged to let go of was that urge to self-sacrifice to maintain some diplomacy, or keep a relationship going. When Venus went retrograde in Aries it was like she was trying to help us understand the other side of the equation. It’s interesting because the energy that she encounters in Aries is quite similar to what the endgame was during the Libra eclipse. Aries doesn’t self-sacrifice and it’s probably not too aware of others to begin with. It’s a more personally driven sign and it’s energies are most suited for direct action, guided by it’s desires. Venus, when retrograde, is helping us understand our wants and needs. She even makes a trine to Mars helping us get really informed with wants our desires as well. The fact that she turns back around just after this full moon, which is likely highlighting a lot of what she’s been going though, and by the time she sets, hours after that, she’s already moved forward, will likely signify a lot for us in our lives.

Now we’ll look at Venus at the moment of the full moon itself, because she is the dispositor of the moon during the full moon, meaning she’s the ruler of the sign the moon is in at this time. In other words, Venus is calling the shots. Venus is in a peculiar spot. She’s already stopped in the sky from her retrograde. The energy of any planet when it’s standing still in the sky is amplified big-time. So not only is she calling the shots, she shining bright and getting ready to move forward. On top of this, she’s in the sign of her exaltation. Venus is really powerful here, but she’s also not too far from Saturn. Venus in Pisces is dreamy, creative and possibly completely detached from reality. Saturn is giving that reality check necessary to make things become a reality. Saturn isn’t about any of that fluffy, dreamy, imaginative stuff, that’s just not his vibe. Saturn is all about saying no and making sure things are steady, durable, and worth it before continuing on with them. He’ll make you work for something, but it’ll likely be something that’ll last and isn’t flighty. He’s in a supportive aspect with both Uranus and Mars at this time, which make’s innovative, liberating and authentic change possible, when you’re emotionally driven to make it happen. Dreamy, imaginative and all the good feelings Venus is having to be realistic with Saturn nearby. She’s having to weigh things out and decide what can stay and what can’t. Seeing as she’s coming out of a retrograde, she’s in a better spot to do so. She also passed over Saturn not long ago, so she’s already aware of these energies and she’s already sobered up some.

At the time of this full moon Venus is standing in her power and really letting things sink in. The spotlight on her sign of Libra, which has been going through it for the last couple of years, is helping her truly identify what she wants and where she’s willing to compromise when she starts moving forward again, in all her might as a morning star. The fact that she’s also still technically trining Mars shows that she’s going to have support in bringing things forward. We actually have Venus, Saturn, the north node and Mercury all in Pisces trining Mars and sextiling Uranus. That’s a crap-ton of energy lending support to that forward movement and creating the reality that we want and desire. Mars himself still isn’t in the best of spaces, but we’ll talk about him in a bit. At the very least, he’s receiving some support from everything going on in Pisces. What this means for us is that we’re going to have important things highlighted during the time of the full moon. Take note of them and really get ready to move forward in accordance with your true wants, needs and desires. Life might have been putting you through the ringer, but hopefully you’ve discovered your true self in the process. A connection to your true values, and to your value, can help you move to make your dreams come true. There are a lot of different pieces working together to support you right now, even if you can’t fully understand things rationally at the moment, and the road might be different than anything you can possibly imagine at present, you’ve got this. Action will be necessary though.

Speaking of action. Let’s go back to our friend Mars, who is almost out of Cancer, where he has been grudgingly transiting since last September (with a short break when he entered into Leo to retrograde back). Mars is not a fan of Cancer, and Cancer is likely not a fan of Mars, because they do not align on very much. Cancer is slow, emotional and loves comfort. Mars is fast, driven and couldn’t care less about comfort, he wants to get things done. They get along when it comes to defending those things they care about, though. With Mars in Cancer, the urge to defend that which is perceived as home, personal, and/or family, is really important. It’s also pretty emotional and maybe even a bit passive-aggressive. This is energy we’ve probably gotten pretty used to over the last year because it’s been quite prevalent, but it’s still uncomfortable and unstable. When you need to be emotionally involved to act, you might not be very consistent, and emotions involving Mars are likely to be straining. Anywho, Mars is taking center stage during this full moon as well, because there will be a T-Square formed between the Sun, Mars and the Moon. It’s a T-Square because both the Sun and Moon around 90 degrees from Mars. A full moon is formed when there’s around a180 degree angle formed between the Sun and Moon, putting them directly across from each other, opposing each other. Since Mars is about halfway between them, his energy is like the release point of the energy being built between the Sun and Moon, yet he also creates a point of tension for both of them at the same time trying to make something happen. Typically with a full moon things become visible so that we can see them, this will be one spurring more action than the typical new moon because of Mars’s involvement. Mars is about action and the square itself generates an action, as it is of the nature of Mars. Your emotions are being highlighted now to give Mars the motivation to move, and he’s being supported by the stellium of planets in Pisces and Uranus. The universe, God, or what-have-you, is really trying to give us a push forward, but we’ve got to move. It’s up to you what you will do with this opportunity.

This is probably going to be an uncomfortable, and possibly triggering, full moon for a lot of people. Those with personal points or planets in their natal chart between 20° and 30° of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), are probably going to feel this the most. The Sun is conjunct Chiron, to the degree. This here will highlight some unhealed wounds regarding the Aries energy. For some people it might explain a bit of why they have an issue pursuing the things that they want and why they don’t initiate things. Maybe a sense of inadequacy in this area. Also, the Moon is reflecting this back to the Sun from Libra. Where have we possibly been failing to act on our end and in our own interests, putting others before ourselves and how do we really feel about that? Or have we not been doing something we want to because we don’t think we can achieve our goals and it’s easier to blame someone else? The last couple of years have already been doing quite a bit to highlight this stuff in our lives, but now that Venus has done some soul searching and forced us to relive or re-visit how we relate to so many things, where do we stand? Have we learned the lessons we were supposed to over the past couple of years?

In the end, this Libra Full Moon has come to set things straight, and arm us with the hindsight of everything we’ve been through over the last few years, to make the moves to create the life we want. It will not be easy, and it might triggering, but it’s necessary to achieve what we want within our heart of hearts. T Squares act as described above. Both sides of the opposition are reminding us that we’re having a hard time acting in our own interests, Mars in Cancer, who is ruling the Sun’s side of things, also has a hard time directly tackling any issues he has. He’s emotional and reactive, but is very aware that something has to be done and will likely try to act in one way or another. Since he’s receiving support from a stellium in Pisces, including Venus who is ruling the Moon, the other side of the opposition, Mars might not get as out of hand or be as volatile as he would be otherwise in his position. It looks like so many different things are working together, from so many angles to support us. However, all that support and energy can only help you if you use it. If you get a burst of energy and resources to help you go forward and construct the world you want but choose to sit at home, or you try to think about what to do and what not to do from a rational standpoint, or you move from anywhere other than within, you might miss the wave… or it can knock you down. Look at the last few years and all you’ve been through… what do you have to loose by really banking on yourself this time?
