So this full moon is going to be occurring at 22° Scorpio on May 12th 2025. It looks like it’s gearing up to be an intense and possibly unpredictable full moon that can shed light on the different ways in which life has been changing for you in a certain area of your life and how it’s affecting you on a deeper lever. For people that aren’t accustomed to dealing with the deeper, more intense emotions, this full moon can be quite tumultuous. For those who are used to the Scorpionic energies it might not be so jarring, this depends entirely on your own personal chat. Having a copy of your chart nearby while going through this post can help you figure out where these energies are playing out for you personally and how much they’ll be interacting with your own personal energies. For anyone with planets or personal points around 22° of the fixed signs (meaning Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius), this full moon is going to hit you a bit harder than most. While it might be harder to do because your lives will be interacting more directly with the energies, you can still take advantage of them to transmute aspects of yourself and transform your life. At the very least, anyone feeling things more intensely than usual can use this information to understand why and how they can best use the energies.

So any time the moon is in Scorpio emotions go deep, and may take an intense, dark turn towards the things in life that most people like to ignore. It’s important to know that the moon goes through Scorpio once a month, but it’s not usually highlighted. So, most people will typically have a period in the month in which they are feeling things more intensely than other times, but might not notice it as much when feelings aren’t being brought to the forefront. However, when we’ve got a full moon we’re having a light shone on some emotions and parts of ourselves that are usually not seen or acknowledged and it can be rough. Even more so when we’re talking about Scorpio, which is notorious for keeping things under wraps. The important question is what do you want to do with this energy?

This is the part about astrology that I love the most. A lot of people do not like dealing with hard things and choose to run from them as long as possible. Let’s face it, I do it with certain areas of life too. However, when we’ve got a tool like astrology to help us out, we can identify the type of energies coming, see where they are playing out, and figure out how we can use them to our advantage. These deep, dark and intense emotions and truths that are dredged up during this Scorpio full moon can be crippling, I’m not going to lie, but they are showing you things for what they are. Scorpio isn’t a sign that’s about lying, sugarcoating or anything other than the cold, hard truth. That’s not something that people, especially in certain societies, are accustomed to dealing with. Just the same, when we’re faced with these truths, we can decide how we’ll react to them. Scorpio shows us the ugliest of truths, makes us sit in them, and can help us transmute the energy and transform it into fertilizer for our personal growth. That’s what it’s all about. However, you’ve got to make your choice about how you’ll participate in the process. You can help yourself by facilitating the transmutation of the energies or you can try to ignore them. The decay will inevitably set in, but how useful it is for you depends on your direction of the energies. We have to look at the ruling planet of Scorpio to really get an understanding of this.

Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio and action is always involved whenever he’s implicated. At times, especially in Scorpio, the action must be planned and very directed, but it’s really effective in those moments. It’s like Mars is taking the leaves that fall to the ground and converting them into the nutrient rich material that will help fertilize the ground and prepare it for the new growth. If you look at beauty of this natural cycle I don’t know how some type of organizing principle or something isn’t apparent. There are changes occur on different levels, and so many creatures and moving parts work together to help in this process. In our lives, the same process is occurring and we’re getting a chance to do our part in the ensemble.

If we work with these energies, we can fertilize the area of life where this is playing out and help prepare ourselves for the new growth. If we choose to not do anything and just focus on the loss or pain experienced, the process of the transmutation doesn’t occur and we get stuck lamenting the loss of what was. The sad thing is that even if we ignore those things, they don’t cease to exist and the decay does occur, just at a different pace and the suffering and things we’re trying to avoid just last a lot longer. So the transformation is occurring, but it’s not directed towards a higher purpose and those energies aren’t being engaged for that end and stagnation seems to set in. In reality though, you can’t really stay still, life keeps going so you’re falling farther and farther behind. Have you ever experienced this in life? Could a different approach have possibly been more beneficial for you? It’s not to get stuck blaming yourself and getting lost in that, it’s not a Cancer or Pisces full moon. Scorpio tries to help you deal with the hard truth to really transmute the hurt and pain into something useful for you.

This can be a hard time for a lot of people, but it can be very rewarding as well, and is usually essential for progress and new growth. Also, though I say you need to put in the work for things to progress, I do not say you must go at it alone. There are different people with capacities to help deal with some of these things. When we’re talking about Scorpio, a lot of time we’re talking about betrayal, death, loss, trauma of all sorts, and insecurities, to name some possibilities of what we can experience. If you’re going through it, figure out which healing modality will work best for you. Figure out what you can handle and what is feasible for you in your life. Some times we’ve got people with important Scorpio or 8th or 12th house placements that make them really good at helping others deal with some of these things. Maybe after you’ve learned to transmute the energies for yourself, you’ll be able to help others as well. In any case, I say if you get hit with some hard things, pray and ask for guidance and go from there.

Now we’re going to go into some of the specifics of this particular full moon. Again, it’s occurring at 22° of Taurus, so the energies will be more forceful for those with prominent fixed sign placements. The ruler of this full moon is Mars, who will be in Leo at the time of the full moon. Mars has cleared his shadow so is out of most of the retrograde energy, though he’s still in the sign in which he initially went retrograde. Either way, he’s in a fire sign and fire is supportive of Mars energy. It might be a bit prideful and any perceived affronts to a person’s ego may cause some reactivity and outbursts, but all-in-all Mars is in a lot better of a spot than he has been. He’s in a sign-based square to the full moon, so that could lead to more harsh or frustrating situations. I think it’s really important to keep this in mind when dealing with people because I do see a lot of people being at a fever pitch while dealing with uncomfortable truths and deep feelings, so they might be a bit more explosive when they feel like they’re getting attacked, or being slighted or humiliated. During this full moon in particular, someone who gets their ego bruised might be more likely to lash out than usual.

There’s an overcoming trine to Mars from Venus, and she’s hosting the Sun who is hosting Mars, while Mars hosts the moon and Venus. There’s a whole lot going on here that shows that these different areas of our lives are bound together in many different ways and cooperation is probably a bit more likely than usual, even if it’s not comfortable and comes after some type of outburst… probably an emotional one, which may or may not have anything to do with the situation at hand. 7 of the 10 planets used in Astrology are wrapped up in this. 6 of them are being hosted by Mars and Venus, with the other planet being Mars, who is being hosted by the Sun. There’s a chance that things don’t get completely out of control and that maybe a bit of Mar’s anger or drive does spur some necessary action. Maybe something at someone’s core is set off by that push and pull between maintaining status quo or trying to stay the same when there’s something that needs to be addressed and worked on. Progress has to be made and change is coming from both sides of the push and pull because Uranus is forcing change in spite of Taurus’ obstinance. Either way, we can use this information to keep in mind that more is going on than what we can see on the surface. If there is an explosion on your end, you’ve got more going on than you’re letting on. If the outburst is external and you’re dealing with it, the other person probably has quite a bit going on as well. Tap into that Scorpionic energy, observe and take in everything. While things may not be comfortable, they’re likely signaling to deeper, longer lasting threads. It’s not always necessary to react in the moment, as a Scorpio rarely does, but taking in all the psychic imprints you’re receiving at this time will likely be useful at some point.

While we’ve got all of that going on, Pluto is going to be almost exactly square Mercury, within 2 arch minutes, and that will be cranking up the notch up on anxiety and mental stimulation. Deep, dark thoughts are also possible, touch grass or something. Ground yourself. Mercury has recently left Aries which would normally lead to a bit of a slow-down and relaxation, but he immediately began applying to this square to Pluto. Pluto is a planet of extremes and it’s really intense and obsessive. Mercury in hard aspect to Pluto puts our mental and communicative capacities in a tense place, pushing us to figure things out, but typically in a daunting and excessive manner. What seems interesting to me is that this is happening shortly after Mars and Pluto squared it off for the last time and Pluto himself has affinity to the sign of Scorpio. He’s also all about getting to the deep dark truth of things and is kind of a marker for transformation wherever he may be in any given chart. Mercury-Pluto contacts can also lead to things from the depths or secretive places being revealed. It’s even more interesting that it’s causing this from another fixed sign. Those of you with a lot of fixed energies, do what you can to manage your stress levels around this time, again… maybe get out into nature and out of the mental and emotional realms. Pay attention to things things that you’re feeling and look to get to the bottom of some things, if deep and traumatic things come up, don’t feel as if you must go at it alone, but also know that it’s part of the energies of the time and that it’s working to call your attention to something. Look at where the fixed signs fall in your own natal chart. Things haven’t been right here for you for a while, something needs to change. Your resistance to change here is more than understandable, these are fixed areas of your life, but something’s got to change. The trajectory that you were or have been on for a while isn’t working and different parts of your life are trying to help you understand that. You can take this as another push from the universe to get things into order. A change is going to come, how in touch are you to your truth? Your essence and connection to self will be paramount over the next few years. Are you there yet? If not, what can you do to get there?

Let’s start to wrap this up, but on a positive note. Jupiter closely applying to sextile Chiron at the time of this full moon can actually show that a higher perspective can be gained in relation to some past wounding. This wounding could be affecting your ability to go after what you want or impose yourself when necessary, among other things. Also, the moon is applying to a trine with Saturn, and while this trine is not at it’s strongest point, it seems like some stability and support is coming through from somewhere else. For some people it can be their faith that is helping them stay okay during this time, some people might have a spiritual guide or maybe even help from beyond the veil. Saturn’s energies are stern and steadfast, but when things get chaotic, sometimes they’re exactly what we need.

On another positive note, while the bag is mixed and the energies are scattered, generally speaking, those with placements around 22° of the following signs will likely experience the energies more “pleasantly” (it’s still Scorpio, I don’t think even Scorpios think of some of these energies as pleasant… well.. there is a certain side of Scorpio which can be. Haha!): Virgo, Capricorn, Pisces and Cancer. Additionally, Mars’ energies will be more supportive for the those with planets or personal points around 11° of the following signs: Libra, Gemini, Sagittarius and Aries.

In conclusion, if you face the truth and put forth the effort to progress, you can use these harder times to lead to times in which you flourish. As I mentioned earlier though, you do not have to do it alone. Help and guidance from those you can trust may be necessary. As a very wise woman instilled in me from a very young age, prayer is there even when your most reliable resources cannot be. As I’ve grown up, I’ve learned how right she was and on so many different levels. You are never truly alone, on your hardest of days you are only as alone as you allow yourself to be. The truths contained within those Scorpionic energies can help you see that some things go beyond life and death, figure out your truth and let that guide you through your personal cycles. Everyone marvels at the Phoenix and it’s majesty. We’ve got to keep in mind that it was burnt down and reborn from it’s own ashes. You might be getting burnt down now in some area of your life. What are you going to do with this energy?
